But there is one "gay cafe" in my city (not sure about anywhere else, but the town I live in is one of the bigger ones, so theres hope biggest have things like that as well), which started as a gay bar and evolved into this LGBT hub in the area because everyone was welcome, they give out pins with every possible pride flag there is (a lot of them I didnt even know existed, so education), they are a part of the LGBT rights organisation "Stonewall" in our country, and are really involved into the community and fighting our homophobic government trying to fuck us over every chance they get, massive respect towards the guys running it for real.Īnd even when it was officially a gay bar, there was never an issue if you entered it as a lesbian, they were very welcoming and friendly, my first time there when I was like 16 or 17, I met this young gay couple of adorably friendly bears, I talked with them that I recently came out and how most of my extended family disowned me, they cheered me up, gave me tips on how to start dating as an LGBT person, they shared they experiences and struggles as a gay couple all the while emphasising that the most important thing in life is happiness and love and if I find the person giving me both, I can overcome anything. Here, if there are any LGBT establishments, they are nightclubs which I absolutely loathe despite working as a bouncer in one a couple years back, to the point I'd have to be drunk and/or high to allow myself to get dragged into one, the only one I enjoyed I did because they had a small quieter room with karaoke every night and i love singing (i was once accused of playing Back to Black by Amy Winehouse on playback instead of actually singing it (screw the fact I have a lower, more growling voice and a completely different style of singing.) and it was one of the best compliments I ever heard).
